10 days. Thats all that separates me from World Race launch. This thing that I’ve been planning, hoping and praying for is finally happening. It’s not something that will maybe happen in a year or so, it’s actually happening! A few weeks ago, I spent 10 days in Gainesville, GA where I got to meet the rest of my Squad that I will be traveling with for the World Race!! They are 43 amazing people who are just as pumped as I am to set off on this crazy journey. During my time in Gainesville, I also found out my team placement! Our big squad of 43 will travel together and spend some months together doing ministry but for the most part, I will be doing day to day ministry and life with a smaller team of 5 other girls. Without further ado, meet team Sonflower!!

I mean it when I say that I already deeply love and care for these girls! We clicked right away and I know that God has so much planned for us over the next 11 months. During our 10 days in Gainesville, we camped each night, ate food from the different countries we will be visiting, did all kinds of team building exercises, completed a fitness hike, and got to listen to so many awesome teachings on all areas of ministry as well as personal identity and spiritual growth. It was hot, exhausting, and emotional but oh so worth it! I met so many amazing people and also got to reunite with some of my sweet friends from my time in CGA. Overall, it was such a refreshing and life giving week!

So now that training camp is over, what’s next? Well, I will be leaving for Atlanta on October 1st where I will join up with the rest of my squad for 4 more days of last minute training before we head to Costa Rica on October 5th!!! I am blown away by how quickly launch is approaching and at times, I have felt extremely overwhelmed. However, God is daily confirming that this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.
As of yesterday, I have officially hit my second financial deadline of $10,000!!! WOW!! I am overwhelmed by how faithful God has been in providing these funds and with how generous so many of you have been. There is no way that I could be doing this without your financial support as well as your prayers. I now have about $6,550 left to raise in order to be fully funded. If you feel led to partner with me financially, you can simply click the “Donate” button on the left sidebar.
I’ve said it so many times but I truly believe that prayer is even more important than financial support. Regardless of whether you feel led to give financially, I would love for you to join my team in praying for these next 11 months! Right now, I would love prayers for peace as I prepare to leave. My squad and I are about to step into complete unknown and are in the process of looking to the excitement of the future while also mourning the many goodbyes we are having to say. Also be praying for financial provision for myself and my squadmates. That the Lord would send people who believe in these dreams and passions that He has placed within us and are willing to help make them reality.
Finally, if you want to stay up to date with what is going on during my time on the World Race, you can subscribe to this blog and receive email updates each time that I post. Once I launch, I will only be using this blog for updates instead of my personal blog.
Thank you all so very much for loving and supporting me so well during this time! I am truly thankful that God has given me such an amazing team of supporters and I can’t wait to share this next year of life with you all.
Blessings,
Erin
