Upon arrival it was standing room only. So then, what are 3 “farang” (white people) supposed to do for 3 hours while waiting for Thai royalty.
As time progressed and we grew restless on our road side may, I learned of all the great things Princess Sirindhorn was doing for the education system in Thailand. Her heart is for her people, mainly for the children and she is attempting to change the Thai people’s mindset on the importance of education. She wants them to view education not as a burden bt as a way to something better. Right then and here I knew I liked this princess. When she walked out of the hospital wearing jeans and a checkered button down shirt with a camera around her neck, I knew this was the princess for me.
She is the hope for the children of thailand. Through her efforts to increase the quality of education in her land she will give the net generation boundless opportunities. As she walked in procession she was all smiles. The people around me were so honored to be in her presence. As she walked by I gave her the traditional wai. She smiled and nodded.

As I walked out a man in military uniform came and asked me if I had traveled a long way to see his princess. I said yes all the way from Boston (oh yeah that’s where the king was born.) he responded with, “oh my princess must be greater than I once thought.”
I would say he’s right. She will be the one to save Thailand.
