–Luke 1:37
Take a minute and really let that sink in. NOTHING is impossible with God. Here, I’ll say it again; NOTHING is impossible with God. NOTHING. Not a single thing is impossible with the Lord. I don’t know about you, but for me that is unfathomable. Luckily, the Bible is bursting with stories of God doing the unfathomable.
In Exodus 3, the Lord appears to Moses in a burning bush and entrusts to him the deliverance of the Israelites from the oppression and slavery forced on them by the Egyptians. Can you imagine? If I was Moses I would have been thinking, “Well, the Israelites have only been under the control of the Egyptians for the last 400 years, but OK! Sure I can deliver them! That’s a totally rational plan.” Not to mention, he was speaking and listening to a burning bush. That sounds insane! But it gets better; in Exodus 14 after the Israelites have been released, Pharaoh changes his mind about letting them go and rallies 600 chariots to chase them down and bring them back. As the troops approach, the Israelites are frantically wanting and needing a solution. Was God really going to save them? It was looking mighty bleak. Cue the Lord empowering Moses to part the Red Sea and thus, save the Israelites just as He had promised. Re-read that: God gave Moses the power to PART the RED SEA. Nothing is impossible with God.
In the book of Daniel chapter 6, Daniel, a faithful servant of the Lord living in Babylon, was convicted for breaking a 30-day decree banning prayers to any gods except for the king. His punishment? Spending a night in the lion’s den. Now let’s be real; sleeping with lions wasn’t exactly going to be like snuggling with kittens. These guys thought Daniel was doomed for sure! Daniel, however, had full faith that his Maker’s protection would surround him. Once again, the Lord’s promises proved true and His character faithful because when the king opened the lion’s den the next morning Daniel walked away without a scratch. Nothing is impossible with God.
The Scripture at the top of this post comes from the Gospel of Luke when an angel tells Mary that she will give birth to the Son of God, even though she is a virgin, and that her relative, Elizabeth, was also with child despite her old age. This would eventually result in the birth of John the Baptist from Elizabeth and later, our Savior Jesus from Mary. Nothing is impossible with God.
Jesus, the Son of God, left His throne in the Heavens to come to the Earth and live as a human. He was poor and homeless, tempted by Satan in the same ways we are tempted every day, and hated by the religious leaders yet still remained sinless. He was condemned, ridiculed, brutally beaten, and crucified by the very people He came to save. Jesus was a King, who died nailed to a tree and rose from the dead three days later to prove victory over death and to redeem our union with our Creator. NOTHING is impossible with God.
Right now, my situation seems impossible. In just 13 days, I have a support deadline of $3,500 and in that time I’m trusting the Lord to provide the $2,000 required to reach that goal. I feel like Moses standing at the foot of the Red Sea desperately needing the Lord to come through before the Egyptians reach us. I’m praying with all that I am for Him to empower me to part my Red Sea so that I may continue on this journey and share Him with His children all around the world. Please be praying this prayer with me, and also please prayerfully consider being a part of furthering the Lord’s Kingdom by donating. If God is stirring in your heart and you feel called to do so, gifts can be given by clicking the “Join My Team!” tab to the left and following the directions.
I’ve never been in a position of authority where it was my duty to hire someone for a job, but I’m guessing that, at it’s very simplest core, it goes something like this: a position opens up that needs to be filled, in one way or another you have candidates for said position, you review their resumes, possibly have an interview, maybe contact some references, evaluate, and hire someone based on the premise that they not only say they can handle the responsibilities of the job, but also that they have the qualifications and experience to back up their word. From what I’ve come to know about the immeasurable and profound God that I love and serve, I know with everything in my heart that He’s going to come through. Not only does He say He can do it, but everywhere I turn there is proof of how he takes care of His people (who else do you know that can make a man part a sea?). I know He’s got this, “For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16).
27 days until training camp and 75 days until we launch! So much to do and so little time!
"We say things like 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart.' Then we live and plan like we don't believe God even exists. We try to set our lives up so everything will be fine even if God doesn't come through. But true faith means holding nothing back. It means putting every hope in God's fidelity to His promises.”
