I've mentioned before that I have been running to check out the surroundings. I have also taken some pictures I thought I would share to give you an idea about the town. Because I can't resist and awful joke, I am sharing one from this morning. Why did the chickens cross the road? Probably because I scared them running down the street. I did see my first basketball hoop in Romania today on my run. It was only about 8ft high so maybe we can find some neighborhood kids to play dunkball with. I can dream.

My bed for the month. I'm the top right bunk. Feels like living across from a haunted house sometimes.

Lots of horse and mule-drawn wagons Children tend to be out without parents often.
By the way, there are lots of things from American culture that can be found around the world. I have seen Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper in the grocery store here in Dragonesti. They sell these pseudo chocolate chip cookies for way more than I can afford. But, it is nice to know that if I get desperate I have that option. I do find it funny when you run across things you would rather have never left the United States. Saturday night I climbed into bed and was trying to sleep. There was some sort of party with loud music going on across from where we are staying. As I focused a bit on the music, I suddenly realized the song playing was, "Macarena." That is one song I could have spent my whole life never having heard again and I can't believe they were willingly playing it in Romania. Go figure.
