We arrived in Dragonesti, Romania this morning around 6:15am. We caught a train around 10pm and it was a bit of a rough night as we were sitting upright in a fully lit train car with about 80 other people. At around 1am a guy decided to try out all the ringers on his cell phone. I slept through much of that, but my team was not pleased. We arrived this morning and found that Dragonesti is a relatively small town. I can run from where we live out of town in under 15 minutes one direction. I'll run the other way tomorrow to guage, but we came from the train station in that direction so I would guess about 5-7 minutes puts me in the middle of a field.
Dragonesti is much smaller than Uzice and definitely less developed. I had to chuckle as on my run I met multiple horse-drawn wagons. There are cars, but I saw way more bikes and wagons moving about at 6:30am than I did cars. Go figure.
We were joined mid-afternoon by another team from The World Race and our 2 squad leaders. The squad leaders will be with us until next Wednesday and so we are a team of 14 for now. We will learn more about what ministry entails tomorrow, but until then both teams are enjoying a quiet day of catching up with one another and catching up on rest. FYI, for those of you concerned about my travel experiences, the craziest thing about the train last night was the guy playing his music loudly. Otherwise, it was very uneventful.
