Yesterday we were sent out to see the city of Bucharest whiel doing some team bonding.  Our days since we have arrived have been filled with meetings and team times so this was our first real opportunity to actually see the city.  We were given a list of things to see and do in Bucharest.  Yes, 4 of us rolled down a hill in a park.  We also played soccer with 2 Romanian children and I filled out a job application in Romanian.  The lowlight was eating toba (the liver, kidney, and heart of a pig in pig intestine).  Yummy or not so much and the texture was a bit much.  But, the highlight of the day was the awesome encounter that came from asking for directions.
We were looking for the Parliament building and I stopped a random guy on the street to double-check we were headed in the right direction.  We were and we continued on with our trek before stopping to fill out the job application.  As we finished and were preparing to head on, the guy I'd stopped for directions returned asking if we needed more help.  We explained what we were doing and he stated that he would like to come along with us for the day and be our tour guide.  This started our day with Romeo.  We rocked the scavenger hunt with our home-court advantage, but what was amazing about the time was the awesome conversations we were able to have.  Romeo comes from an Orthodox background but sees the Bible as a fairy tale and can't understand how someone could believe in the Holy Spirit.  I asked him whether it was was possible the Holy Spirit was what prompted me to ask Romeo of all people for directions and then for Romeo to decide to rejoin us for the day.  We spent the day having spiritual discussions and finally parted ways around midnight with promises that if we return to Romania we will get back in touch.  It was one of those awesome times where we headed out on a scavenger and God had somebody to put in our path to chat with about all we are learning, what we are doing and the hope we have.   My prayer is that Romeo would continue to think about the many things we discussed on our path around Bucharest.
