Month 12 has come and gone for me. Off of the race and I’ve just returned from a 3 week mission trip to Mirebalais, Haiti. Some of you may remember I had considered NOT doing the World Race last year and just returning to Haiti. Pssst….I’m glad I did the World Race…AND I’m even more thrilled that God has already allowed me to return to Haiti. It felt like spending 3 weeks with my 2nd family.
The World Race helped me to see some untouched areas in my heart that need healing and to begin the process of facing “all the stuff”. Life and healing are a process…but knowing I CAN in Christ and who I am in I AM has really opened my eyes and heart to A LOT.
So now what?
I am making plans to returning to Haiti for ONE YEAR!!! God-willin’ I’ll be working with a ministry called Grace So Amazing in Mirebalais, Haiti helping with the Haitian side of their Sponsorship Program for kiddos and their new school for Pre-K to 4th graders…many of which have seen little to no school. Their new orphanage is in the process of getting a roof and then they will have room for 32 munchkins and space for infants/toddlers as well. Throw in helping with first aide, house visits, and who knows what else and its shaping up to be an incredible year.
I’ll have details on how to help soon…but right now I would very much appreciate hardcore prayers. I’d like to return in SEPTEMBER to help prep before Grace Academy opens October 6. This leaves little time to fundraise and prepare…but we have a GREAT God and His plans and timing are best so I’m just waiting to see what He says to do next.
Scripture I’ve been encouraged by lately is Mark 8 where Jesus was mainly talking about the Pharisees…but where I was reminded of God’s goodness in the feeding of the 5,000 and the feeding of the 4,000 with LEFT-OVERS both times after only a few fish and loaves were available to begin with. So if God can provide for World Race surely He can provide everything needed for a year in Haiti too.
