I’m not sure if I commented on this previously….I sure meant to because it was a profoundly beautiful of “the Church” doing things right. One of our last nights in Guatemala we worshipped and had communion together as a family, a body of believers. Communion was rather standard but what followed melted my heart…feet washing. In some Christian circles it’s like the pastor or priest are considered almost godlike/untouchable…something like this would practically be unheard of…but there was the pastor, his son, and several other parishioners washing our team’s feet and washing each other’s feet. The foot washing that brought me to absolute tears was when the pastor washed his wives feet. So humble, raw, and real…this is what Jesus desires His church to be like…to figuratively and spiritually wash each other’s feet…all people deserve this…from those viewed as the least to the greatest in this world ALL deserve to be LOVED.
