There…I said it. People have even written a book about it…and as a World Racer it seems that this is a “regular” subject that’s brought up…I mean A LOT. If you didn’t know better it’s as though our older selves were oozing out in our younger souls discussing how things are “going”. There’s freedom to talk about things like that with wild abandon like a young child or a senior might…community allows you to do things like that. Ah yes…COMMUNITY.
I’m still getting used to being in Community as a long stint as a hermit. This hermit crab is working on be less crabby and is slowly but surely lettin’ loose. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable to break free from an ocean of anonymity and to hop onto the hot beach of like it or not here I am world. It’s tricky to balance ocean and beach…and so maybe it’s time to pick-up surfing…not coasting to complacency but something a bit more fierce, wild, and crazy for the Lord.
I imagine some spills are on the horizon. I have this Old Navy T-shirt I’ve been wearing with this guy/gal profile of a couple walking on a beach with a sunset in the background…everybody say aaahhh or make barfing noises…I know, I know! I’d rather the shirt involved a couple on horses…you know something a bit more reckless, hazardous, a different kind of “mushy” or sloppy. So this is me sayin’ I have no clue what I’m stumbling into…this whole community business…but slowly but surely I’m drinkin’ the Community Koolaid and embracing whatever these next 10.5 months are gonna look like on the race. Bring it!
