Writer’s Block- not just blocking the thoughts in my head from getting on this page, but also blocking my stories from getting to you.

Don’t get me wrong, there is more than enough going on in this country to write about, I just don’t know how to begin to relay it.

I could tell you how my shoulders and ankles have to be covered at all times, while the men walk around in mini-skirts.

I could tell you how my tuk-tuk has to weave in and out of cattle covering the streets. The people here worship and honor cows here, so pinning them up would be disrespectful.

I could tell you that in the 90 degree heat, the only food you can find on the streets are spicy curry and hot tea.

I could tell you that for some reason, this entire country carries the smell of fecal matter.

I could go on about the differences between here and Western culture, but that would only be a very trivial part of my experience here.

What I really want to tell you is how I have fallen in love with a room full of autistic children.

I want to tell you that even though I have to dodge punches, bites and drool every day nothing compares to that moment when you look in their eyes and realize they don’t want to hurt you, they love you.

I want to tell you that I have seen an example of Jesus’ version of true acceptance by little girls with physical deformities.  They see each other as equal, the main difference being their favorite color.

I want to tell you that I have to fight back tears every time I think of one of these girls being abandoned by their parents.

I want to tell you that the thought of saying goodbye to them for the last time in a couple of days is breaking my heart.

Tuesday was my last official day of ministry of the World Race. I can’t believe this season of my life is coming to an end. I want to say thank you for following my journey this year.  There will be more blogs to come about my last couple weeks with my squad, my thoughts on the year and about my homecoming.

See you in a week.
