There are around 660,000 orphans in Rwanda.
But what does that number mean to you? It's easy to hide behind numbers.
When a child becomes a number, the reality of their lives doesn't seem so real. It's not so painful to think about.
But I met one of those children behind the numbers.
I can no longer hide behind the statistics. She is real.
Her name is Marie. She is six years old. She enjoys dancing, singing, and drawing.
Both of her parents have died from AIDS…she is HIV+.
