She is beautiful.

And at five years-old, she can’t wait to go to school. But her Mom says, “Not this year, we need one more year to save.”

So she sits and looks out the window at the children with their clean uniforms and new shoes.

The cycle repeats.

And finally at ten years-old, her Mom says, “This is the year.”
And for two years, she reads, she writes, she plays and she is finally happy.

But her Mom’s body isn’t selling like it used to.  So she is pulled out of school, and thrown onto the corner.

And at fifteen years-old, she is pregnant for the first time.

Her daughter is beautiful.

And when the girl turns five years-old, God is also turning something in someone’s heart miles away.

Child Sponsorship.

When you sponsor a child, you aren’t just sending them to school. You are ending a heart-breaking cycle. You are creating hope. You aren’t just sending a check; you are sending the love of God.

I have sponsored a child before, but I have never experienced child sponsorship from this angle before this week.

I had the pleasure of helping 6:8 Ministries, with their school supply distribution.
The children were provided with new uniforms, new shoes, and backpacks filled with new supplies. They got the opportunity to write a thank you letter to their sponsors. I was honored to be part of this process.

The story I told could have been an example of half of the families I saw come through the program.

Lives are being changed, including my own.

**I would also like to ask for pray for the little girl my team and I decided to sponsor. Saskia is 13 years old and is currently recovering from emergency surgery. They found a tumor in her chest, we have not found out if it was cancerous or not. **
