So this
month, I have been living it up in Thailand. I have been able to see
and experience some incredible things…
a whole new culture

and
riding elephants

climbing waterfalls
enjoying the beauty of God’s creation

waking up to an incredible view
even worked a little bit 🙂
best part of this month has been spending time with these girls.

These
are the girls of Remember Nhu. They are sweet and funny and loving
and absolutely beautiful daughters of God. They are just like any
other girls you might meet in America–they have homework and chores
and worry about their hair and boys. But their life hasn’t always
been like this. Remember Nhu is an organization that is dedicated to
preventing child sex trafficking. They rescue girls who are at risk
of being sold into sex slavery and offer them a precious gift–a new home and
family and freedom.
the first time in their lives, these girls have three meals a day
every day-and can even have seconds and thirds if they want.
the first time in their lives, they have their own bed and clean
clothes that fit and shoes.
and just be kids.
last day of freedom.
They are loved.

It’s
halfway through this trip, and sometimes all I want is to be back
home in a big comfy bed and to be able to eat something besides rice
for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sometimes it’s easy to forget why
I chose to give up my comfortable life in America to wear the same clothes day after day and take freezing cold bucket showers and live out of a
backpack for a year.
And then
I see this.
And I
remember why I chose to take this journey.
