I have
always loved stars. One of my favorite things to do is stare up into
the sky on a dark, cloudless night, far away from city lights and
just take in the beauty of all the twinkling pinpricks of light in
the pitch black canvas. When I was a kid, I had the little
glow-in-the-dark sticker stars on my ceiling and maps of
constellations on my walls. I love the way stars paint pictures in
the sky, and I love that even though they’re millions of miles away,
their light still shines bright enough for us to see here on earth.
And I love that God knows each and every star by name.

Just
like He knows the name of every single child in Buenos Aires.

Tonight,
our team had the chance to do a prayer walk around the community of
Buenos Aires. We walked around with a couple of children as our
guides and prayed over the people and the streets and the houses.

As we
were walking, it was turning from dusk into night, and I couldn’t
help but keep glancing to the sky and watching as more and more stars
kept appearing. And then all the sudden, it was like God was saying
that this was a picture of the community of Buenos Aires. That this
community had been going through a long, dark, cloudy night for a
long time-a night filled with hopelessness and heaviness. But
stars were starting to appear there. And those stars were the
children in that community-the children who make up literally the
entire church congregation. They are the ones that are going to
start bringing light to that community, like little glimmers of light
in a dark place. And eventually night ends, and the sun rises, and a
new day begins. And I really believe that the sun is going to rise
on Buenos Aires very soon, the long night will be over, and a new day
is going to begin there. A day filled with fresh light and hope.

Among
the people of the world you shine like stars in the heavens. You
shine as you hold out to them the word of life.” Philippians
2:15-16

So I will upload some pics as soon as I can, I promise, I just don’t
know when that will be 🙂
