We are finally in AFRICA!!!!!

The last 5 days, we have been in Jinja, Uganda for our
6-month debrief.  It has been a time of
calling our squad up and out into greatness, full of tears, joy, laughter, worship,
working through the hard things, and celebrating the great.  It has been a time of reflecting on the last
6 months of the race as we approach month seven and head to Kigali,
Rwanda.  Not only has the theme of our
debrief been about pressing on as we approach the remaining five months of our
race, but also of the promises we are making to ourselves, to each other and
most importantly, to God.  Not only
have we discussed promises we are making for the future, but we also had the chance to share stories about the promises the Lord has and is already fulfilling for us.  Each story has served as a testimony to God’s
faithfulness!

I’ve had time to reflect on so many promises God has followed
through with in my life, but the struggle comes when I think about the promises
that have been made, but not yet fulfilled.
One includes a promise God made to me about my future back in India
through the answer of prayer, followed with the prompt to read Romans 4 soon
after the prayer was answered.  (Once by the prompting of the Spirit, second by a fellow racer within 2
hours!).  In this
particular chapter in Romans, it speaks of the promise of God to Abraham, that
he would become the father of many nations and that his wife would bear him a
son.  Abraham trusted God and did not
waver in unbelief, but walked by FAITH, being strengthened, knowing that God
would complete the promise He made.  Even
in times of no hope, Abraham believed that God was a God of His word, trusting
what had been said to Him.  The
righteousness of Abraham and his willingness to give all glory to the Lord is
what led God to fulfill his promise.

This chapter in Romans has really stuck with me the last two
months and has encouraged me to release my fears and uncertainty of the future
to God every single day.  I’m learning
that fear is only an opportunity to learn to trust God and it has provided me
with the chance to equip myself with the armor of the Lord to fight the good
fight of faith.  God has been and is
continuously cultivating an obedient heart within me and I become more and more
confident in the plans of the Lord for my life each and every day.  I refuse to miss God-intended opportunity due
to the chains of fear or doubt.  With
faith in these promises that the Lord has placed before me, I choose to walk in
obedience to Him and trust that I will not sink when I choose to take that step
onto the water, just like Peter did.  As
quoted by a book I am reading, “I will not miss some of the blessedness that
comes from a life of belief in the absence of proof,” but will choose to keep
my eyes focused on what Jesus promises
instead of what the men in the boat
might say.

Tomorrow our 6-month debrief in Uganda is coming to a close
and

I’m still $1,540 short and 4 days LATE  of my final deadline.

This means I’m at risk of being sent
home!  If you feel led to help me raise
the remainder of these funds and become a part of this journey, donations can be
made by utilizing my “Support Me” tab to the left under my picture.  I am forever grateful!

My confidence is found in the timing and the promise of God’s plan and not in my own!

I am TRUSTING the promise that God has me here for 11 months and will provide the necessary funds to keep me here for the remaining five.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE AND ALL THAT WILL
BECOME A PART OF THIS JOURNEY WITH ME FINANCIALLY!

“Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.”
