It’s already month THREE of my World Race adventure!  Here’s what we’ve been up to since Australia!

Debrief

All 58 people on our squad, including our squad leaders, gathered at the end of October in Vietnam to debrief the last two months of the Race.  We were blessed to have our coaches, Wanda and Steve come visit us to pour into our teams, as well!  (We call them our World Race parents!)

It was a time of bonding, encouraging one another, challenging one another and just enjoying and celebrating the time we had being back together as a whole family.  It was so great to get to listen to my brother’s and sister’s stories of the ministries they had been a part of and talk about the growth we had been making as individuals.

Getting poured into from our WR Brothers! They rule!

Smoothies from a side street vendor just around the corner of our hostel was a heck of a treat!

A night of dressing up for Halloween and doing team building was awesome and so much fun!

An Interesting Travel Adventure

After a 4 hour plane ride and a ten hour layover in the airport to Ho Chi Mihn for debrief, a 26 hour bus ride awaited us across Vietnam as we traveled to our location for the month.  We were blessed to travel with three other teams that we are spending the month with.

It was an interesting adventure, filled with constant noise of the bus horn, sigaling for bikes to make way and uncomfortable positions in what was meant to be a “sleeper” seat.  It was definitely an experience to remember! (We have to make our way back again at the end of the month!)

Culture

There is so much to learn here in Vietnam!  The people are so friendly!  And the food isn’t too bad either!  Bau is one of my new favorite things, along with delicious egg and cheese sandwiches from vendors.

The traffic on the other hand is something I am still getting used to.  The amount of motorbikes here is insane and it makes crossing the streets like a live game of Frogger!
Loving People

In the week we’ve been here, we’ve had the opportunity to love on people like crazy!  We’ve spent time at Marble Mountain and an orphanage and elderly home here – they are beautiful people of Vietnam!

A precious little girl at the orphanage!

This month will be filled with the opportunity to learn to be intentional in building relationships with people, despite language barriers or any other obstacle we see as a struggle!

I can’t wait to see what this month has in store!
Missing all of you back home!  Love you guys!
