This is the one post I didn’t want to write. The one thing I dread asking. The one topic I will have the hardest time talking about.

Money, Baby.

So I’ll keep it short. Basically,

Well, disclaimer first: I once heard you should write as if the reader knows nothing. So, I apologize if anything is redundant.

But, basically, I have to fund a good chunk of change to go on this mission. I am still iffy about whether or not to throw the actual numbers up. But all in all after the actual trip cost, bills, supplies, medical insurance, travel to and from training and launch sites, we’re looking at a down payment on a noice house.

People with whom I have confided my funding fears in have come back with some priceless knowledge that has helped, to a degree:

  • You have to allow people to bless you
  • It isn’t about you, so you’re not asking for money for your self
  • Once you fully understand that it is about the people you will be helping, you won’t be afraid to ask
  • You have to let God work through you and through others and let givers get their fill out of it and God be glorified

To sum them up in a few points. It helps. I admit. I still am not entirely comfortable at the moment. So since I don’t know how to ask or what is appropriate, I’ll just try the blunt question:

Will you help support me?

In any number of ways –

Fundraising ideas? References? Companies that might sponsor? People that might sponsor? Carwash crews just waiting to work for free? Encouragement? Feedback on the idea of me doing a lil singing jam sesh with my brothers to help raise some of the costs?

Or make a donation in the support me tab to the left and it is tax deductible or a tax write off or something to do with you getting bonus points come April.

I don’t know guys, but either way, I feel like I’ve already raised the money with the love everyone is showing me as of late. So, honestly if you just keep sending over the well wishes, I’ll never know the difference. Anything and everything is welcomed and beyond appreciated.

“Mom, you gotta see this. I must have enough for this trip twice over at this point.”

“Honey, your account still only has one donation. And it was made by you…”

“Right. But the LOVE, Susan, the LOVE!”
