Shortly after I returned to the States from my Race, I had the opportunity to travel to Gainesville, GA to attend Project Searchlight (PSL). Run by Adventures in Missions, PSL is a week packed with worship, great speakers, and fantastic small group sessions for those who have just finished their World Race. If you’re a Racer about to come home and thinking of going to PSL, stop thinking and just go. You will be so glad you did.
Some of the worship was Racer-led, so I had to opportunity to help lead a couple of the days. Photo credit: Justin Marshall
During one of the afternoon small group sessions, the activity was to write two prophetic letters – one for another person in the group and one for yourself. When I began this letter, I didn’t even realize it was for me and not one of the other women in my small group!
I, of course, seek the Lord for myself daily, but this was the first time I’d intentional created space to draft a letter from the Spirit’s prompting to myself.
I, of course, needed to hear what I (or, He) had to say. The letters were mailed to us and I received mine a few days ago. While it may be a word specifically for me, I pray you are also blessed by it.
Dear Beautiful Daughter,
Three words: Rest. Trust. Jump.
All verbs. Words of action. Yes, even rest is action. May these mark your upcoming season. A season full, not of stagnancy, but of action. Of doing.
You know the Father’s heart. Rest in it. The one in your own chest becomes more like it with every beat.
You discern the Spirit’s voice. Trust it. Savor every word He speaks as honey – sweet and golden.
You have the Savior’s hand in yours. And when you jump, He’s jumping right beside you.
Love,
Erika Venese Wynne
From my sketchbook – I created a reminder of my words of this season. Looking forward to jumping with both feet into what’s next.
