The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. Saying goodbyes, packing, and repacking my backpack trying to make the best decisions about what clothes I will wear for the next 11 months, visiting family, camp counseling and much more. Here are a few highlights from my last month in the US.

I said goodbye to my job and my co-workers threw me a surprise going away party! Isn’t this cake awesome!? It has been so great getting to know patients and co-workers. You guys will be missed.

I got to spend a few days in Lansing saying goodbye to the people who have loved and supported me so well through this whole journey. I love you all and have been so blessed by you!!

I spent a week in Camelot with the Ladies of the Round Table. Translation: I got to be a camp counselor! Crosswalk is where I have been blessed to serve the past four years and this last week of summer camp was a beautiful end. Watch out world! These girls and the rest of our students are going to change the world through their family, friends, schools and beyond.

I got to head to Ohio to spend some time with my dads side of the family. Games of mafia were played and the coffee pot never stayed empty for long. Bursts of laughter and singing were frequent. It was encouraging to hear how God is at work in our family and know that I am loved and prayed for even more so as this journey begins.

Then came the road trip back to Michigan, packing the rest of my stuff and heading to the U.P. My final preparations were made, double checked to do lists, ate Tostada pizza, rode my bike with my niece around the basketball court and enjoyed quality time with my parents. These are the people that have been there through the tough moments and good moments of life that got me here. They have been amazed  with me at how God has provided. Their faith is growing through this as they once again release me to go where God has called.

So here I am in Atlanta reunited with E-Squad, and Team Iron Life. We have said our good-byes, we are ready to go. We are ready to be sent to the Nations. We are ready to go where God sends us and do what He has called us to do.
