Fellow squadmate and dear friend, Joshua Thomas, wrote a blog of his appreciation for the women on GSquad. I had it on my heart to write a response…

Dear Men of GSquad,

Man, have I learned from you all. Have WE as women learned from you all. The men of GSquad are men that prefer, honor, and respect us as the women we are and are becoming even more to be. You guys have shown what it means to follow after the Father's heart in everything. I personally respect you guys as men, as sons of God, and as brothers in Christ.

I am so proud of the things that the Lord is taking you through and how the Lord is teaching you to step up. The Lord is doing so many great things in all of you. He is teaching you how to be better men and how to step into your calling as men of God. He is showing you how to use your voice and use it well.

He is shaping you guys in such great ways, using you to break the common misconceptions and stereotypes, such as:
-Men are going to do us wrong,
-Men only want one thing,
-Men are going to leave us after they "get what they want,"
-Men are going to break our hearts and tear us down,

You men make us get it through our thick heads that all men are not the same. You have shown us that these things that we may have seen as true in the past don't have to be true in the future. Not all men are this way.

You as men have shown us that we deserve men that will come under the authority of the Father, first and foremost, when it comes to life decisions and heart decisions.

You have shown us that we deserve to be treated like daughters of a King, in other words, princesses.

You have helped us guard our hearts.

You have pushed us to be better, to serve better, to honor better, and to respect better.

You have preferred us by giving up your seats for us to sit.
You have preferred us by making sure we are safe and accounted for in sticky situations.
You have preferred us by honoring us as women.
You have built us up, called us beautiful, and respected us.
You have been there for us when we needed someone to talk to.

To the guys on my team specifically, thank you. I appreciate you more than you will ever know. Thank you for honoring my sisters and me. Thank you for preferring us. Thank you for being awesome men of God who have pushed us to be better as daughters of a King. You have pushed us into our inheritance and built us up. You have been there when we needed you and loved us regardless of our pasts.

To the guys on G Squad as a whole, I appreciate you all as well. Thank you for being you and walking in this journey with us. Sure, you are learning from us, but we are also learning so much from you. You are preparing us for more. You are preparing us for our future.

You have made it hard to allow any person to break us down, because you have shown us that our identity is found in Christ, not in what we wear, how we look, or how we need to act in order to be loved by someone.

You have made it hard to accept anything less than God's best for us.

So we thank you for that and we honor you.
