Thembeni home…

Certainly I have found one of my favorite places to live on the trip.  I am at present living in Thembeni, Swaziland.  A care point with funds but often neglected in attention.  A missionary named Claude built up and lived at this place a few years ago, building these beautiful huts alongside some missionary teams.  Jon and myself have decided to call this place home for the remainder of our time here in Swaziland and help wherever needed.  Every day, this care point sees and feeds around 35 children from the local area.  I personally help out in the preschool in the mornings, games in the afternoon, and have employed 5 local troublemakers to help me in the preconstruction of a all purpose building that will more than likely house a church.  All of this sandwiched between a beautiful African sunrise and sunset.  We eat dinner by candle light and enjoy eachothers company amongst a lovely view of the Swazi countryside.  Quite lovely indeed.

I have also been able to renew some of my creativity as of late.  I have been on a drawing phase and hope to one day find a scanner and share them with you all. I bought a llovely betique today and hope to learn more of the african styles of art.  I am really finding that art makes me come alive, I am passionate about it, and I should not suppress it further.  I think Eldridge once wrote something like, “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs… Ask yourself what makes you come alive, because what the world needs is people that have come ALIVE”.  Now if I can just find some watercolor paper or anything that isn’t graph paper.

Yesterday morning.  One of my favorites I’ve taken thus far.

kinda wish I had a camera some days…
