we were going to leave at around 9:30 that morning, we left at around
12:30, come on we are on Africa time get with the program. lol On a side
note we have found that in most countries when they give you a time for
something it is always ‘ish (9’ish, 10’ish, ect.). So eight of us pile
into the back of this truck originally being told that the villages were
going to “not far”. Three hours later we made it to the first village
we would be visiting.
It was nice feeling like a celebrity everywhere we went having the
local children freak out yelling at you “Ma-zoo-n-goo!!!
Ma-zoo-n-goo!!!”. So we ate lunch at the first village and prayed over a
plot of land where they are wanting to build their church. An hour or
so later after leaving there, we arrived at the next village to find
that they had been there all day waiting for us to get there. We found
them singing, dancing and praising God when we pulled up. By this time
it was nearly 5 O’clock in the evening!!!! It was amazing. We introduced
ourselves, shared a quick message and then prayed with them.
two more villages to visit. We were there maybe thirty minutes and in
that time we worshiped with them, prayed with them, shared a message,
they performed a dance and gave us parting gifts. This particular
village belonged to the Masai Mara tribe. Needless to say in a matter of
minutes we were drawn in and felt at home. It was by far one of the
most amazing moments yet on the race. It was a truly humbling
experience.

When we arrived at the next village the sun was setting and getting
late. Our contact spoke with a couple of women from the village while
Auston, Brain and myself got to play soccer with some of the kids in
this big open field. ‘Play soccer/football with local kids in Africa’
check that one off the bucket list!!!! Awesome!!!!! We literally saw
them playing and just were able to jump right in and played until it was
time to leave. Again, I say, AMAZING!!!!!
As we left the third village the sun finally went down and what we saw
was something I have been wanting to see and looking forward to, the
stars in the African night sky. Absolutely beautiful. I can’t really
describe it and my camera wasn’t with me of course but that wouldn’t
have mattered as it can’t take pictures like that. I digress, but seeing
the stars like that on the way to the last village left me with a sense
of awe like I have never had before. Our God is AWESOME!!!!!!!
So when we made it to the last village we found them praising and
worshiping God waiting for us to arrive just like the second. Amazing!!!
Again we were able to just jump into worship with them and they were
welcoming us in as if we were home. AMAZING!!!!! Afterward and again, we
introduced ourselves, shared a brief message and prayed with them
before leaving. Incredible!!! At three of the four villages we dropped
off clothes for the children that had been donated. On our way back for
another 3 hour trek, from of the back of the truck looking up it was
God’s glory all over the night sky. We were able to see literally every
star in the sky. Truly it was an amazing and unforgettable day.
Please continue to pray for us as we continue our journey. Thank you all
for your prayers and for your continued support. I am almost fully
supported and still have about 15 hundred dollars left. Thank you again.
God bless.
