NEWS UPDATE!!!!! Well we have had our debrief in Nairobi and
were there for about a week. It was interesting. Basically it was just some
down time to process the past couple of months and talk it out. We got to be
with the rest of the squad there as well. We had some worship and teaching as
well. It was nice to just recoup
and relax before heading back out again.
Ok, so we are in a city called Kitale, here in Kenya. Oddly,
we spent about like 8 hours driving on a bus to get here, which is about the
same amount of time it took to fly here from Thailand. We had our orientation
today with our contact and he gave us a run down of what all we will be doing
this month. We will be working at one of the local churches and putting down a
concrete floor for them. The floor will be in one the classroom’s they have, as
the church also doubles as a school. We will be heading to the jail later this week
to do some evangelism. Every Saturday they have a prayer meeting for a few
hours, which we will be going to.
Next week we will be heading to another church to do some
construction. Then we also will also be going to a few schools. Then off we go
to a hospital later on next week. So after our orientation I am pumped to say
the least. We were told that one of the schools we will be visiting has around
1,600 students and we will be addressing them all at once. No pressure
right???? The jail has around a thousand inmates and will be basically the same
thing. Again, NO PRESSURE RIGHT????
Ok, so speaking in front of abut two hundred people in the
Philippines scared the crap out of me and now the seven of us will be speaking
in front of a thousand people or so, so you know no big deal…..ARE YOU KIDDING
ME?????? PRAISE GOD!!!!! I am on the verge of a proverbial freak out so you know
I’ll be ok. Ok, deep breath Eric….ok, I’ll be fine…..I think. Honestly I am not
to sure how accurate those numbers are but none the less if they are even close
to that it is still kind of scary.
It is gonna be interesting none the less between all the schools,
the hospital and the jail. Be praying for us and for all the people here as
there are a lot of needs and we are only capable of so much. But we serve an
awesome God. Please be praying for His blessing over the people here.
I thank you all for your continual support and prayer.
Please be praying for my team as well. Life is coming at us all in a number of
ways right now. From financial problems, to the loss of a family member, to
family members being sick, ect. So please keep us in your prayers and our
families as well. May God bless you and guide you to a deeper relationship with
Him.
