WOW!!!! This month has literally just flown by!!!!! We arrived and have been working in Tagbilaran, Bohol, Philippines. I have been blessed to work with some really amazing people. Our contact, I.C.M. (International Care Ministries) has had us doing all kinds of stuff. Emily Young and myself have been blessed to work with their medical team.
We have been taking peoples information, their blood pressure and weight before the see the doctor and pharmacist. Oh and by the way if you want to take some ones blood pressure you would say something like “Kwa-an tika B.P. ha pls?” Which is “Can I take your blood pressure please” or “Tibong ta palihog pls?” which is “Would you step on the scale please?” If we weren’t doing that we were praying with people in need of healing or general prayer.
It has been really cool. John Smith, Tanna Burge, Auston Copeland and myself have also been working in the local jail. We have been going up there once or twice a week and playing volleyball and basket ball with the inmates and the guards. We have even been able to speak to the residence there at the jail. Tanna and myself have been blessed to share our testimonies and John got to preach the word to them. It has been an awesome experience. They have been a blessing to us.
Our last night in Bohol the staff of I.C.M. gave us a going away party. It was really fun but really hard as I have grown really close to some of the staff and will miss them dearly. I would love, Lord willing, to go back there. It was a really nice way to leave after our month together they had some games and food prepared for us. It was really nice of them to do that for us and we will miss them.
So we now have about just over a day left here in the Philippines before we head out to Malaysia first thing Monday morning. We haven’t found out what we will be doing yet but should find something out tomorrow. I would like you all to please be praying for my family especially for my step-mother. I found out last week that she has breast cancer again. It is stage four and it is in her spine, her liver and in her lymph nodes around her neck, so please be praying for her.
