Hello everyone! This will be my first update for many of you. So I welcome you to be a part of my blogs as I embark upon this incredible journey I will be on over the course of the next year. I am so excited to be able to have this opportunity and that so many friends will be able to be right there with me (thanks to the internet). I have just over two weeks before I leave for Matamoros, Mexico. It is beginning to dawn on me what I am actually about to do. I have been reading articles from last years participants and I can’t help but well up with excitement. They have seen so many things and this journey has forever changed who they are. I know that going into this next year I will somehow be changed as well. I will see so many things and learn from so many different people. I will see what true poverty looks like, and I will see hope in the eyes of the children lost in the middle of it. I will see injustice, and will be right there next to those trapped in it. But more so I will see joy in the faces of those that have nothing, and they will teach me what it means to truly delight in the Lord. I do not know what exactly God has in store for me, but I have decided that I will take this step toward following Jesus with my whole heart and all of my life. I go forth with the desire to change the world, but also to be changed. I do not want to remain in my sheltered lifestyle. I want to see what God has for me. I have long prayed that my life would be a life filled with adventure. I believe that this is the beginning of something huge, something far beyond anything I can even imagine. I pray that God will use me this year. I pray that through my experiences you will be encouraged, excited, and moved. I know that I will need lots of encouragement this year. So please send me emails and feedback and baked-goods!

If you do not want to be a part of my blog updates, just let me know and I promise I will take you off my list without being too upset. Email me at [email protected] or use the http://www.theworldrace.org/ website to communicate. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and is continuing to support me. To the beginning of something amazing…CHEERS!
