What does “Be Bold, Be Intentional” mean? You keep quoting it and writing it everywhere.
I feel that God has called us to be Bold and Intentional in everything that we do to bring Him honor and glory.
Be Bold – fearless and daring; courageous
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
Reading this verse, memorizing this verse and praying through this verse…..God summed it up to me in being bold. I took this command of being bold personal, in every aspect of my life. I constantly repeat Joshua 1:9 in my head, telling myself to be bold….what do I have to be terrified of, why am I discouraged. Who am I fearing God or people’s opinion?
I take this truth wherever I go…..to every conversation, situation, and environment.
Be Intentional – done on purpose; deliberate
But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. Exodus 9:16
After reading through this verse and many others, I noticed a theme of how intentional God is throughout the Bible. When Jesus is teaching He is very intentional on the words He chose, and the stories He told. Jesus did not just do things “just because,” there was always a point to be made and a lesson to learn.
For example when Peter got out of the boat and walked on water towards Jesus in Matthew 14:22-33. Notice what happened after Peter began to sink.
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.“You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
Jesus intentionally corrects Peter before he got back into the boat. Jesus could have had that conversation in the safety of the boat with the other disciples.
Be Bold, Be Intentional
Being bold and intentional to me means everything. To have the boldness of inviting your friends, family, co-workers to church but also do it with intention. To have the boldness of giving when God has laid it on your heart and to give with intention, knowing God is the ultimate provider and whom shall you fear? To have the boldness of serving more, and to go out and serve with intention of loving like Jesus loves and sharing the Gospel. To have the boldness to share your faith no matter where you are or to whomever you talking too, to be intentional about bring it up in conversations. To be bold about taking your next step in following Jesus, to be intentional about seeking His wisdom and guidance daily.
Be Bold, Be Intentional in everything that you do to bring Him more honor and glory!
