After a year of trying to dictate my life and what I thought I wanted, God thankfully told me "no." For this reason or that reason I had a desire to move back home, back to comfort, back to what I knew all to well. Don't get me wrong…I LOVE my family and I LOVE the south. But God had something BIGGER!
Job interview after job interview ended the same way…..getting to the final stage and hearing HR person say "Sorry, we choose to go with an internal candidate." I took this as God saying "I know you can easily get a job in a place you deem safe, but I have something bigger just keep seeking me." So I started a 40-day prayer challenge book and one day hit me with this: "What are you praying about for your career to honor yourself or to honor God?" After praying through that question God challenged me with "What will honor me (God) in 2014?" This completely rocked my world!!!
Shortly after that I joined a Radical Mentoring group and we read Chazown by Craig Groeschel on how to define your vision, pursue your passion, and live your life on purpose. After looking at my experiences, core values and spiritual gifts….I discovered my "Chazown" of reaching the least of these around the world through service and sharing the gospel.
Then I discovered the World Race and I haven't been the same since….I instantly knew this is what God was saving for me! How do you know you know….because your heart races, you tell everyone, and God continues to show you the next step once you take the first one! SO I GO!
I know I can't go alone, I know I will need God's favor, prayer, and financial support! Please pray about being apart of God's work through prayer or finances….both are greatly needed. It is only $16,285! I say only because that includes travel, lodging, food, insurance…everything! Can you imagine living off of $16,285 for 11 months that includes international flights! This is going to be a raw experience, doing whatever it takes to not only reach the least of these but live among them, to love them, and to share the Gospel with them, and be apart of the change the world is waiting to see.
