Let me tell you about our God…for He is good!
Let me tell you what God has done… for He can be trusted!
Two weeks ago I was at Training Camp. (I could write a whole blog about what God did during those 10 days but I want to focus on something different right now.) I will tell you this much: At Training Camp God confirmed my calling to go on the World Race and gave me a confidence that He would provide.
I had just met the first deadline a few days earlier, my second deadline was 2 weeks away and I was $4000 short. Where do you get $4000?? And in 2 weeks? I had no idea how or when it was going to come in but I knew that it wasn’t a problem for God to provide and that He would do so.
The very next day after training camp, as I was waiting in the airport, I saw that I had received $1100! For me that was a huge encouragement and a reminder that our Lord was taking care of this.
10 days later and 2 days before my 2nd deadline I was missing $2880. In 24 hours God brought in $3270! I now have $7900 in support. Do you know how it came in? It came in by God using His Church.
I am not talking about a building or even a denomination. I am talking about a group of believers that have tasted Christ, know His goodness and want to make Him known in the world. They have faith in a powerful, gracious and providing Father. They are a group of believers that love people and are willing to invest time, money and resources in other people’s lives.
These people came by my side in several different ways. Every one of them are joined together by their love for God and His people.
They came by my side through prayer; coming boldly before our Father’s throne and asking for a miracle. Too often we make prayer a last resort but I can tell you that it was at the core of what God was already doing.
The Church also came by my side in encouragement and by speaking truth in my life. You don’t always know the impact that your words and encouragement will have but sometimes God speaks through you and you become a channel used by God to convey a powerful message.
And last but not least, people came to my side sacrificially giving and investing in eternal things. These are people who have been blessed by God and now in return are blessing others. They have given hard earned money for the advancement of the gospel. They didn’t give reluctantly but with great joy!
So many people said they were praying, gave encouragement, and gave generous gifts. I am humbled at your support and blessed to call you family.
So thank you so much for the way God used you to bring about this miracle in my life. Your reward will be great. I am not the one that will reward you, for what I have is far less than what Christ will reward you at the gates of eternity.
My encouragement to you is this: Keep saying yes to God’s direction and Spirit in your life. Keep being a blessing to the people around you for it has an impact…a greater one than you probably think.
And also, I encourage you to step out in faith. When you are forced to depend on God to provide you will see that He will provide and He will blow you out of the water with His goodness!
