“With 5 loaves and 2 fish He fed over 5000 people? Not only did they all get a bite but they were filled? And there were also 12 baskets full at the end? “
You have probably heard of this story before. It is a popular event of the life of Jesus and a very miraculous one when you stop and read about it closely.
Imagine five thousand people. Now imagine the implication of feeding every single one of them. You are probably thinking a whole grocery store would be needed. But all you have is 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. “It’s not enough” you say. “It won’t go far”. It is only natural to have these thoughts. But you know what the amazing thing is? It was enough for Jesus. It was enough for Him to feed every single one of them. See our God is not a God of the natural but of the supernatural. He is not limited by the physical. He created bread and made the fish of the sea and also has the power to multiply that anytime He chooses.
What we have in limited quantity He has in abundance.
Now why did He choose to use the 5 loaves and 2 fish when He could have created it all from nothing?
I believe that Jesus wanted to teach us something very simple yet extraordinary. He doesn’t want to work alone. He wants us to be involved in what He is doing. He invites us to take part in the greatest movement there ever was; His work among the nations. He doesn’t care if we have little or much; He just wants us to be present. He desires to use what He has given to us to accomplish His mighty work.
Throughout the process of support raising for the World Race there have been many times when I have wondered how God is going to do it. It just seems so impossible to me humanly speaking. But He has been teaching me a lot about trust and also about giving and watching Him do great things with the little that I give Him. I still don’t know how He will provide all the support needed to go, but I know He can and He will.
So if you ever think that you don’t have enough to make a difference, think again. All He calls us to do is give Him the little we have and allow Him to do a miracle with it.
Will you let God multiply what He has given you? He is looking for a willing heart. Say yes today and watch what He does with it. Don’t miss out.
