My team and I had a house visit out in the middle of no where. I almost thought we weren't gonna go because of the rain but God had a whole different plan for us.

Around 10:30am, we climbed into our vehicle after the rain stopped and drove for about 30 minutes. I was in the front passenger seat and I began to pray for our visit before we got there. I asked the Father to show me His heart in this and to allow me to feel His heart for the person we were about to visit.

At some point in the drive, I started chuckling to myself as I realized that we were literally going off the beaten path and our vehicle was going all over the red muddy roads. God wanted us there and He wasn’t giving up till we got there.

We finally arrived to the well kept pink African home, where skinny little dogs are roaming and goat skin is drying on the short green grass across from the home. We take off our shoes before walking into this home where are each of our hands and our bodies are embraced with one of the tightest loving hugs imaginable.

We finally all sit down and embrace about 25 seconds of awkward silence. The silence is finally broken by the lady who we are visiting, who asked us to introduce ourselves, so my team and I tell her our names and we then ask her her name, which she then proudly states that it is “Coco Marie”. I giggled to myself when I heard her name. I mean come on…..Coco Maria? What a name.

We then ask her about her family and  her life.  I then asked her about what her favorite bible story is where she preceded to say “Revelations 22:12-14”. I read it out loud to her and then it was translated in SiSwati (local language). I asked her why it was her favorite verse and she said……”the part where it says “Blessed are those who wash their robes….I am done washing my clothes, so now I am washing my heart and cleaning it in preparation for the King.”

Tears began to well up in my eyes as my heart was humbled by this old woman’s heart. Here this beautiful African grandmother sat having lived a long life and was just ready to go Home to meet her maker. She had seen things that I had never seen in my life and her love for the All Mighty King was so apparent just from the simple yet broken English that came out of her mouth.

We then asked if we could pray for her for anything and she asked us to pray that the Father would provide her with food. So, we prayed and that was it.

Later on that night during team time, I found out that another team from our group went and visited Coco Maria( without us ever communicating with the team that we had gone there) and took her a months worth of food. Coco Maria jumped with joy and thanksgiving.

This lady blessed me more than she will ever know and the Father does provide. All praise and glory go to Him.
