Man oh man. Y’all…..life.is.Good. For those of you who don’t know, our route was changed. G-Squad is in Central America instead of Europe. Hopefully we will make it that way after Central America, but we’ll see.
Right now, I am in Honduras and it’s the rainy season here, which means absolutely beautiful weather. There has been a nice breeze every day, 0 humidity, and a refreshing shower every afternoon. The Father surely has His hand upon this team and is walking with us according to His plan.
Some fun facts about the traveling from America to Honduras:
- Michael, my fearless team leader, had to stay behind at JFK airport because of some passport difficulties.
- You know your bag is too full when TSA goes through it and you retrieve it from it baggage claim all taped up because TSA couldn’t close it back up.
- Grocery shopping in Nicaragua for 6 people can be fun and challenging (by the way, peanut butter in Central America is $6 for a normal size jar……no bueno).
- Traveling through 3 countries to get to Honduras: America, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.
- Staying in a Hostel for the first time.
- Finally reaching your ministry sight is such a relief, especially after spending like 16 hours on a bus (it was nice bus though).
Since we’ve been here, we’ve set up camp and made it home. Tony, our ministry contact, has been amazing! He has made it so welcome here. His wife, Nadia, is the sweetest lady in the world and we are all so very blessed and grateful to do life with them this next month.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are dedicated to manual labor. My team will be using machetes to cut grass that is around 3ft high. Thursday is dedicated to working with children and young teeanage girls. Friday is called “Taking It to the Streets”, meaning we will go to a busy intersection and do street ministry. Saturday is dedicated to a town called “Los Pinos” and doing ministry there. Sundays are our days off.
There is so much to share with you all, it’s going to take more than one blog to fill y’all in. The Father is doing some mighty work in and through the minstry here! So exciting.
I am also still in need of about $6,500 to by fully funded. Please prayerfully consider donating so that I can fully focus on the ministry hereJ
I promise a more detailed blog next time, but this is it for now! Keep it real y’all.
God Bless,
Emms
