Hi! My name is Emma! I never know how best to write an “about me” section, but a picture is worth 1,000 words, right?
This is me (the one without a beak). I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but considering the rest of my family is from Texas, I say I was born in Texas too. I’ve lived in Tampa, Florida for the past 15 years with my wonderful family.

This is me and my parents (I was quite a bit younger in this photo and obviously not loving the cold, or the sweater, I’m not sure). My dad’s name is Mark. As far as cool dads go, mine’s the cooliest, also his dad jokes are superb. My mom’s name is Christa, she’s a hoot. Around the Moody house we call her “Screeta” (ask my sister about that). Both of my parents have been unconditionally supportive of me and my crazy endeavors and I love them to Pluto and back (because the moon is too close).
Here’s me sandwiched between my two awesome siblings (Christmas 2013). Kate, my beautiful sister is three years older than me and attends Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas #PonyUp! As far as role models go, this girl takes the cake. She is 27x more beautiful on the inside than she is out (if that’s even possible). The little cashew on the left is my brother Will. He’s two years younger than me and keeps me young with his jokes and constantly wows me with his ability to pound out some jams on the guitar (ladies, he’s single, if you were wondering). But family isn’t the only place I find community.
The top photo is me and two Tampa best friends, Emily and Sydney, the bottom photo is me and my two Texas best friends, Grace and Grace (together we are E.G.G.). And I love every single one of them! All four of these girls have been with me through the thick and thin and have molded my heart in amazing ways. However, humans are not the only loves in my life.
Licorice,
Moby,

And Wednesday.
There’s another cat, Stella, but she likes to be loved from afar (sometimes if I meow at her she meows back). My animals are huge parts of my heart. When I need someone to watch movies with me till 3 a.m., they never fail to deliver. For 16 years of my life I was sure I wanted to be a vet, but this past year that changed.

The past two years of my life have been a spiritual roller coaster (in the best way possible). God has shown me amazing things about His love through the form of service work. The top photo is Sydney (far left), Taylor (a.k.a. Tator Tot), and Grace (yet another Grace), me and these three hooligans have spent many hours cooking up some awesome meals in the YoungLife Southwind kitchen. The bottom photo is of me and a sweet sweet girl in Jinotega, Nicaragua. I traveled there with my school last fall on a service trip and I’m headed to the Dominican Republic this coming September. More recently, I was on Work Crew at a Laity Lodge Youth Camp in Texas. All three of these opportunities, and more, have been God’s way of telling me that I am my best me when I’m serving others.

When I’m not in the Southwind kitchen, or in a foreign country, I can be found doing a multitude of fun things, preferably not in the A.C. I’m a huge nature nut as well as a music fanatic. I’ve been to an unhealthy amount of concerts and I would sleep outside in my hammock every night if my mom would let me.
All of these people, places, and activities, have made me who I am today. Emma the daughter, the sister, the friend, the animal lover, the volunteer, the slack liner, the hammocker, the music junkie, and most recently, the World-Racer. I’m am so so so excited to have been blessed with the opportunity of traveling the world next year to spread the awesome word of Jesus. I hope whoever is reading this, friends, family, maybe even strangers, will support me, both spiritually as well as financially, and follow along with me in this next chapter of my life.
