Hey guys! I really want to be able to post a full blog for you all about what’s going on in Peru right now but it just hasn’t been possible. I will let this serve as a temporary update for you all until I can post something more in depth!

As some of you know many areas of Peru have been affected by flooding, including the area my team and I are in. We are safe but it has been an adventure, including wading through flood waters up to our shins last night. Many homes here have been destroyed by the waters and mud slides and sadly some people have been killed.

They let us know today that the water pipes were destroyed at the main place in Trujillo. This means what we have in the tanks where we are staying is all we have. The water will be out for at least a week while they attempt to fix it.

However they are predicting that the rain will continue and the flooding will continue for a few more days.

What does all this mean?
Just please be in prayer for Peru. We are safe and you don’t need to worry about us. However, the people here who live in mud houses are losing their homes and livelihoods. This place wasn’t made for excess water, it’s the desert, so it’s affecting the people here significantly. Please pray that the water situation would be resolved. Please pray that no more lives are lost. Please pray that God would use us for His glory during this time. Please pray for opportunities to share the Gospel. Please pray for the community where we live. Our house isn’t made of mud but the houses surrounding us are and a lot of them are now rubble. Overall please just remember Peru and our entire squad (spread all over Peru) during this time. God has us here in this time for His glory. Pray we bring the Kingdom! Love you all and thank you for praying.
