This past week has been very challenging and amazing.  We have started
the actual ministry in Busia.   Every day we do door to door ministry
with locals in groups of 3 or 4, spending and hour or so with each
household and telling them the story of the Gospel.  Quite a few people
have been saved every day, praise God! Today we spoke to a woman who
belonged to an African church, almost cultish one.  She had been in the
hospital for a few weeks and not a single person went to see her, when
she needed them the most, so she left it.  She was debating her religion
altogether and Christ led us to her this afternoon.  We shared the
story of the gospel with her whole family and spend a few hours or so
with her answering questions and explaining God’s love to them.  They
all accepted Christ that day, awesome!!  She asked us to stop by her
house to get her on Sunday so she can go to church with us.  In the 3
days of ministry 14 people have been saved!!

We have a few hour break for lunch and then we visit the hospital to
pray over the sick people.  So far we have visited the children’s,
men’s and women’s ward.  The children’s ward was our first visit and so
completely heartbreaking. Rachel and I were bawling when we sat with our
first little girl, Michelle.  Her whole body was enflamed with puss.
She could barely see, her skin was peeling off from being stretched so
much and her feet were twice as tall as they were wide, from puss.
There was another boy, Dennis, who had the same condition, but not as
bad.  He was there again today and was in high spirits, so great.  He
was running around having fun, we played peek-a-boo around corners, it
was so wonderful.  Both Michelle and Dennis’s eyes seemed a little less
puffy, but there was still a lot of work to be done.

Today we focused on the women’s ward.  There was one lady in particular
who came 60 miles to the hospital and the doctors didn’t know what was
wrong with her.  She believed God could heal her, but she didn’t know
too much about him.  We explained the Gospel to her and prayed with her,
but she was nervous to accept Christ into her heart because the town
she is from is very cultish and she was nervous about people hurting her
and hating her for it.  We prayed over her and told her that God loves
her more than anything and will protect her! She accepted Christ tonight
and we are following up with her tomorrow, bringing her a Bible and
sharing with her the story of Daniel and the Lions Den.

 This is Dennis!

Tomorrow is our prayer and fast day, then we go to the church at night to pray with the church.

I
also wanted to share with you guys how we are able to bless our
ministry hosts.  They are letting us stay in their household and not
charging us a dime for staying there and we are in charge of our own
food budget, which we aren’t using all of it.  So, because of this we
have lots of extra money and have decided to use it to bless our
ministry hosts.  The last team that came here build a brick building in
their front yard, so they can host multiple teams, and we are going to
put the windows and doors in, as well as a water pump for there well and
two water tanks for both households, so they will have running water,
showers, toilets, etc.  I am SO excited about this!!  Also we have the
money to buy Bibles for the people we are meeting in the door to door
ministry, we are able to bless our own squad as Gideon hosts all 48 or
so of us and a few extra ministry things we are able to do.

Thank you all so much for your love and support! This is all
possible because of you guys 🙂 and, of course, our Lord and Savior, the
King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the all powerful, gracious, loving and
just Father in Heaven.
