Hello & Welcome

to Emily Rae’s World Race blog!

“The World Race is a stretching journey into 11 countries in 11 months to serve ‘the least of these’ while amongst real and raw community. This unique mission trip is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom.”

Well, we did it!  Our World Race finished almost 4 years ago, can you believe it?  For most of your reading this, you followed my race while I was on it and you probably haven’t been back here since.  Welcome back!

As you probably know by now, I have been accepted to return to the World Race as a Squad Leader in January!  As of right now, I’m not sure which route I will be leading (since they match the leaders to the team members and not the routes).  I am SO excited for and humbled by this opportunity.  I know that I’ll need your prayers for God’s strength, love, grace, wisdom, discernment, and courage to lead this team.

Please visit back often and sign up to get email updates in order to be up to date on how you can pray for my team and I!  “You’re either called to go down into the well or you’re called to hold the rope for those that go down.  Either way, there should be scars on your hands.  Where are your scars?” Paul Washer

THE CHRISTIAN BACKPACKER

While on the race I started a travel blog, called The Christian Backpacker, in 2011.  It has been a complete joy running this travel blog these past few years!   Since coming back to the World Race as a Squad Leader, I’ll be also returning to my worldrace.org blog address.  However, I won’t be leaving TCB – I’ll be updating both!

“TCB is a travel blog centered on topics that really matter. It offers free information about urban and wilderness backpacking, plus answers questions about eternity, social justice issues and the spiritual climate of countries around the world.  Specializing in budget travel, it helps you explore God’s beautiful Earth, while being a good steward.”  Check out The Christian Backpacker to find travel deals, connect to the world, be encouraged, and learn how you can get involved!
