Month #10 turned out to be one of my favorite months.

Our ministry was in a small village called Grigorauca. Although the weather was freezing, especially coming from nine months of summer, the people and the culture were warm and beautiful. 

We lived in a house on a dirt road in the middle of farmland. So peaceful. And even though we didn’t have heat or hot water, it was a pretty great little home.

Our main ministry was to serve in the village community. Most of the time that serving looked like shucking corn. For hours. Everyday. The elderly women in this village are beasts- it was a challenge to keep up with them. After a day in the fields, they always made us the best warm meals as a reward.

We also harvested mushrooms in the forest- one of my favorite memories- and helped with the after school program for the kids. Even though the language barrier was especially hard this month, we were able to build such great relationships with this community.
