“Love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”

I Corinthians 13:4-8

God is teaching me about true love.

As I have been training and learning about leadership this month, the Lord has called me not to focus on leading, but on loving. I’m learning that leadership is an opportunity to serve and to love people; people who may not recognize your service or reciprocate your love. And that relationships are opportunities to give away the love that we receive from our Father.

As I learn how to receive love and love others, this is my prayer…

Father, help me receive your perfect love, casting out all fear. Help me love extravagantly. Help me to see bearing others burdens as a strength and not a weakness. Help me see where I do not love well. Help me love and not expect anything in return, to give away with joy. Teach me true love. Thank you for loving me. Thank you that love never ends.

Open my heart to be loved.

Show me how to be love.

Thank you that I am your beloved.
