I’m Emily Werness and expectations can be dangerous.
I’ve experienced firsthand how high, low, or just plain different expectations can cause disillusionment. Our expectations can easily set us up for frustration, disappointment or heartache. Reality almost always differs from expectations – sometimes it meets them, exceeds them, or oftentimes takes them in a direction you never see coming. (But God does!)
With that being said, I have just one expectation for the World Race:
That God will be nothing but himself:
-Faithful
-The same yesterday, today, and forever
-Jealous for me – strip away idols in my heart that take a place before him
-sticking to His timing (not my own!)
-Sovereign
-Watchful
-Miraculous
-Never leaving us
-Going before us
-The Potter – molding me and making me his new creation (even when it HURTS)
-Powerful
-Loving
-GOOD
