Each month I like to choose one characteristic of God and learn more about it. Usually, God picks that characteristic for me. The word I received this month was ‘Intimacy’. That’s another reason why this month has been my favorite. Having a greater intimacy with God allows me to trust Him more because I KNOW Him more. In that trust comes a lot of peace. This ties in a bit to my last blog.

When you know God – you trust Him
            When you trust Him, the circumstances don’t matter
                        Peace & Joy is yours

Like I said – it can look crazy sometimes. Especially when you’re life feels like a disaster and things don’t make sense.

            You don’t have to understand the things that are happening
                        You don’t need to be able to see the outcome

    Because OUR God sees.
                   Our God hears
                & Our God loves us – and we can rest in that.

Yesterday, myself and two other teammates went to get some groceries. We waited for local transport to show up to bring us back to our ministry site with no prevail. Finally, it was getting dark so we decided to start walking. (About a 4-mile walk)
So hear we are…
                        Three white people
                                    With several bags of food
                                                Walking after dark

with sugar cane field on either side of us (High risk area for Black Mamba snakes – which are very deadly – not to mention a the fields are a good place for anyone to hide in and jump out at us)

But Our God sees us – He hears us – and He loves us

We had only been walking for about 20minutes when a nice looking vehicle pulled over for us. (You don’t usually see nice vehicles around here because it’s a very poor area) It ended up being a Christian WOMAN (if it was a man we would NOT have gotten in) and she offered us a ride! God is so good like that – and things like this seriously happen ALL the time.

She told us about her life; how her husband had passed away 4 years ago and she was left to take care of her three children. She told us that God had been very good to her providing her with this vehicle and a home. Before we got off at our ministry site we were able to pray for her and her three children, that God would continue to provide and that her children would grow to be healthy and strong and know the Lord.

                        You are a hiding place for me;
You preserve me from trouble;
You surround me with shouts of deliverance.
                        Psalm 32:7

I encourage you to grow in Intimacy with the Lord because it brings so much Peace & Joy

The Lord is:

                    Faithful                     Healer                   Savior

The Good Shepherd                        Provider                  Counselor

                       Blessed Hope                        Merciful Father                             Deliverer
