…Or I guess I should say in the air again. No bus rides planned this time around:)

There is so much that I could write about from the past month and the past week in particular. Being home has been great and also overwhelming in many ways. I’ll be writing about reentry in some future blogs and also about Project: Searchlight, the event for World Race alumni to help us plan our futures that I attended this week in Gainesville, Georgia. But for now, I just wanted to write a quick blog to let everyone know what I’ll be up to for the next few weeks.
For those of you who don’t know, my father works with a ministry in Atlanta called Walk Thru the Bible. He has worked there since I was very young, and he is now the president of the ministry and travels internationally frequently to speak and train leaders. When it’s beneficial for the ministry or for our family, my mother and I get to tag along and help. So, until January 31st we will be in India and South Africa. In India we’ll be in Mumbai so my dad can train some key leaders and pastors in a course on the life of David that WTB has recently developed. Then in South Africa we will be in Johannesburg for the annual Global Consultation meeting of many of WTB’s regional directors from around the world. Finally, my parents and I will be in Cape Town for a few days at the end of the trip.
I’m going to write more about this when we get home from this trip, but over the last week I have learned a lot about my Kingdom dream and what I want to do with the next chapter of my life. In short, I want to tell stories that bring freedom to people. I want to take big problems and break them down to individual people and their stories and communicate those stories in a creative way to people who have resources and influence to bring change and hope. This means that I need to learn more about photography and videography and how to use them to tell stories. So, as my first opportunity to learn, I’ll be shadowing and helping Chris Tiegreen, Walk Thru the Bible’s Communications Manager, as he photographs, films, and interviews people in India and South Africa in order to tell the story of what WTB is doing around the world. I’m really excited to learn and get to practice telling stories in two beautiful places that I’ve always wanted to visit!
After this trip we’ll be in Atlanta for a few days before heading down to Central America for a few weeks. My dad will be speaking in Honduras and Nicaragua, so I’m going with my parents to serve as their day to day translator. After the Honduras/Nicaragua portion of the trip is over, my mother and I will continue on to Guatemala to spend some time at Casa Bernabe, the orphanage that we are involved with there. I won’t be home much in the next couple months, but I’m excited to be doing what I love with my family and to be living more stories that I will then tell to you.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support of my family and me. We absolutely love being the people on the ground, connecting everyone at home to other members of the global church and sharing their stories with you.
