Thanks to your generosity and God’s faithful provision, I am fully funded, and have been for some time. As of yesterday, my entire team is officially fully funded as well, which is a huge praise because our final support raising deadline is coming up on July 1st. There are still some people on my squad who need funding, but this blog is for someone else.
A big part of the World Race is community. We have our squad, our teams, and even our closest friends within our teams. But we are also part of a wider community that encompasses all of Adventures in Missions. AIM’s philosophy and hope is that each World Race squad would build on the ones who came before. They always tell us that they hope that their ceiling will be our floor, and that they want us to go higher and deeper than they did on their races. Up til now, we have been the babies of the World Race…the newest squad on the field. But in three weeks
W and
X squads are going to launch, and we’ll join the ranks of the seasoned veteran squads in the second half of our race. It’s time for us to start stepping up and paving the way for the squads coming behind us.
So, in my first intentional attempt at helping ease the path of those coming next, I’m asking for your help to get one of them funded to be able to launch. One of my best friends from back home in Georgia,
Steven Reed, is a team leader on W Squad. I’ve known Steven since we met in Miss Nunnally’s 3rd grade class at Providence Christian Academy. We went to school together for ten years, graduated together, and have remained close friends throughout college, despite the distance. He’s a staple in the Tuttle household when we’re all home for breaks, and he also got to go with my mother and me to Guatemala to visit the orphanage I love there last November. I’m so excited that he too has decided to go on this crazy, amazing journey!
Steven will be leading
Team Fireproof as they launch to Ecuador on July 13th, but only if he has enough money in his support account. As of right now, Steven still needs $1,000 by Tuesday to be allowed to launch with his squad. But in reality he needs more than that, because as a current racer, I can tell you that support raising while on the field with questionable Internet availability, a team to lead, and ministries to pour yourself into is very difficult. So my prayer is that Steven can be much further along toward his final goal of raising $15,500 by the time he launches. If you are interested in supporting my friend in carrying on this wonderful ministry that I love being part of to the next generation of racers, please consider giving to him as soon as possible so that he can be assured of being able to launch with W Squad.
