Well I’m back in Pattaya, Thailand where I was two years ago it’s not what I was expecting to be but I think it is where God expected me to be. I was here for a little less then 24 hrs with Destiny Rescue learning more about sex trafficking because I had this burning passion starting back in 2013 to end it. This place is the sex tourist capital of the world. God has now brought my team here for the month to do various ministries. This week we started ministry at the pier handing out Bibles. We have them in Russian, Thai, English, and Chinese. Our main goal is to hand them out to the Chinese because that is who we mainly come into contact with because those are the ones going on to the boats over to the shows. There are other people that go over to the islands and there might be other restaurants that aren’t shows. The shows are mainly for the Chinese.
We loaded up the truck with boxes of Bibles/signs and headed over to the pier. We then got there unloaded and then got our directions, looked over the Chinese words on my arm to remember to say that I had scribbled: Jesu ai ni (Jesus Loves you), shay shay ( thank you), Bible, and free.
My spot on the pier was halfway down the pier with Cindy who knew what she was doing. I was able to watch her and she really got out there and wasn’t afraid. She has so much passion for bringing the gospel to not just the Chinese but everyone out on the pier. I have never seen so many Chinese in one place it was incredible and my team this month has this opportunity to give them Bibles that we pray will make it back into their country.
Throughout that night I had some interesting contact with different individuals. I honestly wasn’t sure how responsive people would be to foreigners asking you if you wanted a Bible (asking in there language but it could be off). Some people would say nothing (or a nice no thank you hand), others would take it, some would take it and want a picture with you, and sometimes you would get Bibles back.
I gave a young boy a Bible and then said Jesus loves you to him in Chinese and then he started speaking in Chinese. I responded with I only know a little Chinese and told him my name. He kept on talking Chinese so I asked him what his name was and then by then he figured out I wasn’t that fluent in Chinese so he kept walking down the pier. I then came into contact with a couple young Chinese men that came up asking if the Bibles were really free. They couldn’t believe that they were free and that I didn’t want anything for them. They thought that I wanted something for them and I told them no and that Jesus loves them.
Later into the night a much older American came up to me accusing me of trying to make him and others that were going down to the shows feel guilty. I told him that it wasn’t me but that was all God that was making him feel guilty. He then left and his wife/girlfriend who I think was Chinese came up to me and said that I had to talk to her Husband and that they were from Kansas. I tried to but he didn’t want me to talk to him so if you think about it please pray for Jim in Kansas and his wife or girlfriend. I believe God is doing a work in his heart.
That night we had the privilege of handing out 1,112 Bibles! This is only one of our ministries this month! It is so exciting to see. There will be many more stories to come this month.
