Hello friends!

I just wanted to send you an update of our ministry opportunities and travels. My squad spent the past three months in Eastern Europe. We worked with churches, hosted youth nights, clothed and fed Syrian refugees, and ministered to people in the streets.

Last week we arrived in White River, South Africa where we will be serving for the month. Our squad is partnering with Manna Family Church and their local orphanages. We have been gardening this week. All of the crops are used to feed the children in the orphanage programs. I went to one of the orphanages this week and my team helped to throw a Christmas party for the children. I could feel God’s presence that day more than ever. The children have practically nothing, yet they are so full of joy, laughter, and love.

I often find that the people we are here to serve are so willing to serve us. At the orphanage, a little girl was leading me out of the building. On our way out, she kneeled down to put on my shoes for me. God continues to humble me and show His love in tangible ways. We all have something to give and we have the power to make someone’s day a little brighter. This world is a beautiful place when we join hands and recognize the needs of others.

We are also practicing for the church’s Christmas program. Please pray that the turnout would be great and people would come with receptive hearts.

We will finish this month in White River and then have a few days for debrief. The next two months will be spent in Zimbabwe and Lesotho. I am learning to trust God more than ever and I know that He directs our steps. He continues to take me out of my comfort zone and I am embracing every minute of it.

I will most likely have limited wifi over the next three months. Feel free to message me on Facebook or email me at [email protected] and I will respond when possible. I only need to raise $843 by the end of December! I am so thankful for your support and prayers. Your prayers make a difference and I wouldn’t be able to do this without each of you.

With a thankful heart,

Emily
