To all of my supporters:
Well it’s month nine, and I’ve been gone for 250 days. I have less than 90 till I return to America! I am currently in Rwanda, a beautiful land with rolling hills, seasoned chapati (really delicious thick cooked dough), daily afternoon rain showers, and people who are hungry for the word of God. Me and my team are living with a pastor and his family outside of Kigali, Rwanda’s Capitol, ministering at the local church. We’ve been giving daily devotions to a sewing class of girls, who were thought to be destined to prostitution, that the church has taken in to give them a way out of that lifestyle. We have also been ministering six nights a week at church services, doing street evangelism, and witnessing in soccer ministry.
For a country that wasn’t even suppose to be on our route, I’m daily realizing that God has a purpose for us being here. I see lives being touched, transformed, and changed daily as a result of just a few Mazungus (people from the west) being ambassadors of the Kingdom. We are seeking His face, and He is showing it to us.
I’m reminded how much of a blessing this journey has been. How much I have seen God move, not only in the lives of those around me, but my own life. I look back on the Emily I was in December 2012, and laugh. Not out of humor, but out of Joy. Joy in knowing what the Lord has SAVED me from, and for what He has GAVE me in exchange for the old part of me. Unfortunately, doesn’t seem like a fair trade on His part, but that’s what makes him the very definition of love.
Like Paul says to the church of Philipi who had supported him in his time of need….
” and God will meet all your needs according to, the riches of his glory in Jesus Christ.” Phillippians 4:19…..You have supported me in my time of need through your support, encouragement, prayers, words, not only to me but also my family. I can’t really begin to express my gratitude for what you have had to sacrifice.
Romans 8:17 says “…..we are heirs of God, and co-heirs of Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his Glory.”
Because you have sown into my mission, YOU have also become shareholders of the ministry I have been apart of. You also get to share in the Glory The Lord has received this year, and will continue to receive time to come. So, although this word doesn’t do nearly the justice I need it too, Thank you. Thank you for everything. Every prayer, every kind word, every dollar, every time you read a blog, or asked my parents about me….. Thank you. And I’ll probably say it too much when I return to America, but I sincerely mean it. THANK YOU.
I’ll be traveling to Asia at the end of this month and will be spending my last two months pouring out as much as I can until I board my flight to America, and probably wont stop then. These last two months tend to be hard on us World Racers because of our eagerness to return home, but also a fear of the unknown when we come back. Continue to keep me and my team in your prayers. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you. It’s all because of you!
The upmost respect,
Emily Hope Sutton
