UPDATE!
Setting: Lezhe, Albania
Mission: Summer Camp Prep
I (along with my squad) are working at a summer camp this month. We are helping prepare the camp (painting, construction, gardening, cleaning, ect) for the campers to arrive in the coming summer months.
Living conditions are pretty ideal compared to last month; warm beds, hot showers, all three meals cooked for us by the camp staff. It's a very nice change of pace for team R.O.A.R..
This has defiantly been the most structured month yet. We work 10-5 Monday through Friday with an hour lunch break. We have a bible study on Proverbs in the morning after breakfast and a study in Matthew after dinner.
Due to our squad being together this month (except Daniel who is in Romania whoop, whoop) we have been broken into groups according to certain skills we posses. Those who who have worked in administration in companies are doing admin stuff, those good with spreadsheets and numbers are doing inventory for the camp ground, those who have landscaping experience are landscaping, ect ect…..
For some reason Rock & Poop Mover Extrodinar must have been on my list, because that's what this chick has been doing for the last two weeks. Yep, shoveling poop and moving rocks… But, I can say I have had a blast doing it. God was in the mist of the poop and the rocks…..along with (this is where I cleverly tie in the title of my blog with my story) three snakes and a mole rat.
Through our poop and rock relocating, we found (drum role) three snakes and a mole rat! After we got our hearing back after Emma Misco's screams', our team turned into the Albanian wildlife rescue team. Although…… one snake didn't quite make it…… Josh Jiame (Code name: Bug Boy) got a little excited and squished a baby snake with a stick. Quite an eventful day.
These are the moments I'm always going to remember!
MORE BLOGS TO COME,
