Yesterday could have possible been one
of the longest days of my life. Within hours of arriving to
beautiful Matamata, New Zealand the Lord immediately started to strip
me of everything familiar. I am quickly learning that He desires
this to be a season of CHANGE and GROWTH in my life.
I have been reassigned to a new team.
YES, ALREADY! Crazy, right?
It was somewhat of a surprise. As my
former team, Poiema, had dwindled to only 4 teammates I knew this
might be a possibility. Like I mentioned… HUGE CHANGES FROM THE
GET GO! So, today has been bittersweet. I rejoice the fact the Lord
has blessed me with a new family yet I am mourning the loss of a
sisterhood I had expected to spend some of the race with. I already
am seeing life changes quickly on the race…whether you are ready or
not.
I am certainly anticipating all that
the Lord is up to! His plans are always bigger and better than we
can imagine! Well, actually they are always perfect. I just don’t
always get it.
My new family, 3:17, has welcomed me
with open arms. I am very grateful. I must continue to embrace the
idea that the Lord provides family everywhere. God is asking me to
walk in obedience daily and trust Him in these details. I must find
rest knowing that I can’t limit my infinite Father.
As I sit on the floor in Cottage 5, I
am reassured that the Lord is capable and never forgetful. It is
surreal to think that I will be living in New Zealand this month.
This really is my home for January 2010 and I really do have a new
family.
I have to keep telling myself, “This
is real Emily, your alive and living. This is your life.” I’m
not sure how I got to this place. But, God already knows the whole
story. I am along for the ride and know if I walk in obedience He
will provide abundantly! The Lord has called me on this incredible
journey and I can’t give up easily.
So, I will embrace THIS CHANGE and THIS
SEASON!
I have Launch training the rest of the
week and will be finding out my ministry contacts for the month in
the next couple of days. I hope to keep you posted with more details
soon. This is still very new so please be praying for this sudden
transition and for TEAM 3:17, my new family!
Love & Blessings from NZ! The
Kiwis are lovely; their accents are the best!
