If there is one thing I learned through our ministry this month it is the power of prayer and the hope that comes alongside big, crazy prayers.

Because God answers prayers of all sizes.

Our Cambodian brothers and sisters were praying some huge prayers with a child-like faith that gives me so much hope for both myself and their futures.  God never puts a cap on our prayers.  He loves it when we recognize His power and have the faith to bring ridiculous requests to Him.  It gives Him a chance to show-off and reaffirm His constant presence and love for us.

So we asked our new fam to write letters of their prayer requests so that all of you can be praying with us.

When we mentioned that there would be hundreds of people reading these letters and praying for them, they got the biggest smiles on their faces and for a second it seemed as if they had hope that anything could happen.

So let's make it happen.

Let's pray for them like nobody's business.  If you want to write a comment or send a message of encouragement to them, we can make sure that it is passed on to them.  They are hungry to receive any sort of love and letter of encouragement you have for them, so let's give our Cambodian brothers and sisters some hope that will fill them up for their future and let them know how loved they are.

Name: Rithy (our ministry contact)

Fun fact: In this picture we are in the village and Rothi is getting rid of a massive spider in the squatty potty that almost caused some serious accidents.

"I grew up in the orphanage. I accepted Jesus while I was there. When I was 15 I was baptized by a Christian Cambodian pastor and started teaching Sunday school. When I was 17 I started teaching youth worship and being a youth leader. When I was 18-20 I started preaching and leading worship.

Then I left the orphanage in the province and applied to work in Phnom Penh through the Korean organization. I saw children on the road and I told them to come in my house and I would feed them. I have a dream, I start praying, we start orphanage. At first we have 15 children, then we have 30. Until 2013, then we closed it. In the future we are planning to have the church ministry. It is still my dream to have a church ministry.

We want them to pray for the church ministry of Cambodia. So we can have church worship and have ministry evangelism and help the children to know Jesus. We need a real location for the church so we don't have to move everywhere.  It isn't strong for people accepting Jesus because they cannot follow me everywhere I go. We need one base.

We want a church in Phnom Penh and a branch of the church to do village ministry.

Pray for stability.  For God to give us dormitories where the boys and girls from the orphanage can stay. And pray that God can prepare us the way so that they can have a stable life."

Name: Mai Mai

Age: 4

Favorite thing to do: Other than pick on baby Paul and cause trouble – Pretend she is a ghost and paint her nails 5 colors at once.

Best quote of the month: "I look up to the girls that live with us."

Mai Mai's father loves to work in the rice fields and drops Mai Mai off to live with Rothi so he can work more.  I pray that Mai Mai grows up and feels so loved by the people around her.  That she receives education and precious friendships.  I pray that her soul is filled with kindness and she is always treated with gentleness.

That her laughter is contagious always and she finds hope and joy through Jesus all her life.
