Hello Family and Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season and are looking forward to all that 2013 will bring! I am writing to share with you an exciting opportunity of my own that I would love for you all to be a part of. My time at UNI is coming to an end and in the last four years I have made amazing friends, and I have discovered my identity in the Lord. My sophomore year I was really allowing God to work in my heart and was earnestly seeking after Him and wanting to learn more about the grace and joy that He offers us. During this time I heard of a Christian mission trip called the World Race and I immediately knew God was calling me to be a part of something bigger than myself. I spent the next two years learning about the gospel and I realized that God is calling me to do His work in the nations. So here we are! God is still moving and I am still learning, but now I am ready to embark on this amazing race! Not to be confused with the T.V. show 🙂

Starting in July I will be serving as a missionary with an organization called Adventures in Missions, in their World Race program. The World Race is an eleven month mission trip where I have the opportunity to serve in a new country each month with a team of 6-7 people. In each country my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries to preach the gospel, plant churches, serve in orphanages and homes for children with special needs and minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking to name a few. Ultimately our goal is to share the love and life of Christ with the people we meet by building meaningful relationships with them.

I would love for you to be a part of this journey and the most important way you can partner with me is through prayer. Please consider joining with others in praying for good health, that God will be glorified in everything we do, and for our safety. If you would like to be added to an email list where I will be sending updates and sharing specific prayer requests please email me at [email protected].

The second way you can partner with me is through financial support. Even though we live out of a backpack and replace Red Lobster with ramen the cost of the trip still reaches $15,500. This includes all travel, lodging, food, and support for the “behind the scenes” workers at Adventures in Missions. Broken down, my costs come to approximately $50 a day, $350 a week, and $1,400 a month. I am very confident that the Lord will provide for my every need before and during this trip and I am asking you to please prayerfully consider being a part of His provision.

Enclosed you will find a response card, inviting you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation (all donations are tax deductible). If you would prefer to make your donation online, you can visit my blog at emilyschwartz.theworldrace.org. Simply click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of the page and complete your donation as instructed.

I cannot express the excitement I have to see how God uses both you and I in this mission! As a representative of Him to the nations, I pray that I not only will be a blessing and encouragement to those I serve, but to you as well. Your love, prayers, and support mean so much and truly make this possible for me. I want to thank you in advance for your support in this mission.

All my love,
Emily
