” We cannot afford to live only in what we understand because then we don’t grow or progress anymore; we just travel the same familiar roads we have traveled all of our Christian life. It is important that we expose ourselves to impossibilities that force us to have questions that we cannot answer. It is a part of the Christian life, which is why the Christian life is called “the faith.” The normal Christian life is perfectly poised between what we presently understand and the unfolding revelation that comes to us from the realm of mystery.” (The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind by Bill Johnson)
I’ve never been taught about some of the things I’ve experienced out here, about some of the things I’ve seen. What I know is this, the Lord is doing something in me. He is bringing healing and delieverance from struggles I’ve had my whole life. I have begun to gain a vision of who God has created me to be and what He has promised me. I am coming to realize I am a daughter of the most high God. He delights in me. He has made me with a purpose and He gives me power through His Spirit…Big stuff! I have begun to learn what it means to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and what it looks like to walk in victory, instead of under the burden of strongholds. I am still processing, and He is still revealing to me what all of this means, but so far I know that it’s a very good thing.
An African pastor prayed over our team a few days ago. When he prayed over me I fell back on the ground wrecked with gasps and sobs…And then there was a lightness and something like an electric current running through me. This is not something I’ve known and I feel that most would find it hard to believe. But I know what I’ve experienced, and I know He’s doing something new.
Our team came into Tanzania to work with a church here. We stationed ourselves at the church and prayed for hours in order to gain some kind of vision for what the Lord wants to do in this particular place. Here’s the kicker…He spoke to us! We got a picture of where the congregation is presently, an idea of particular strongholds in the area and particular struggles. He gave us an idea of how we need to minister and how He wants to use us. So we have prayed and prayed. We have served and prophesied over individuals we have come to care so much about, and the Lord has done amazing things before our eyes. We have seen healing, people empowered, demons cast out, freedom and deliverance in people’s lives.
And so He has done it.
We have another two weeks here. I expect to see continued change and growth in the people we are ministering to, my teammates, and myself.
