Throughout the year, I hope to document the mish moments that occur every month. (For a definition of what "mish" means, see this blog) Here are the top Mish Moments of our month in Tegucigalpa, Honduras!
- A co-ed bathroom for 40+ people. Three stalls, two showers, and two sinks are split between so many people, and what’s better – you can hear everything that’s happening in the stall next to you (whether it’s a guy or a girl…)

(Our shower was relatively nice, despite the freezing water)
- Killing a cockroach/scorpion/spider while brushing your teeth by headlamp
- Choosing not to shower for several days because the water’s too cold… I took a total of four showers this month.
- Wearing headbands everyday because I haven’t showered
- While doing manual labor, try not to breathe too deeply because the air is full of smoke from the neighbors burning their trash. If you aren’t smelling the trash, you might get a whiff of marijuana.
- Some people set up their tents indoors, not for protection from the elements but for personal space and alone time.
- In order to watch a movie, everyone must gather around one computer screen. If possible, plug in an external speaker and listen closely.

- Before we could start working one day, we had to run into town to buy some supplies. Six hours later we finally returned with most (but not all) of the things we needed to work. We did get a delicious meal out of it though.

- Emily Sutton is a great hair stylist and she’s been a superstar hair-cutter this month. One night during our team time, a few girls from Zion’s Gate insisted on getting their hair cut that very moment so Emily cut their hair while our team gave feedback.

- MOST MISH MOMENT: One morning a water truck delivered water to fill up the tank at our contact’s house. The hose had a small leak in it, so water was spraying out. When we discovered the water was warm, the boys seized the opportunity to wash their hair. They jumped underneath the leak and washed up.

(Also, the guy who delivered the water was wearing a Texas A&M shirt. Whoop?)
